Anna Chaplain commissioned at Bishop’s Palace

Debbie Ducille

On Wednesday 17 January 2024, Frances Wood was commissioned at The Bishop’s Palace Chapel in Wells, Somerset.

Some thirty people attended, all wrapped up well against the icy winds.

In this beautiful chapel, the service was led by bishop Michael, bishop of Bath and Wells and Revd Mike Haslam, chaplaincy development adviser for the diocese.

Frances was commissioned by Bishop Michael and is now the Anna Chaplain to the Bishops Palace and Gardens. The palace is a popular tourist attraction as well as being much visited by local people. Frances will be working with the bishop’s staff as she sets forth on her new ministry.

Following the service Frances said: ‘What an amazing, awesome service. Thank you for all the training, help and support to get to this point.’

A warm welcome to Frances, who joins the team of Anna Chaplains and Anna Friends within the diocese of Bath and Wells.
