Chaplain Joan prizes an acrostic based on Anna Chaplaincy

Updated: Oct 1

Newcastle Anna Chaplain Joan Grenfell was delighted when a member of staff at a care home she visits offered her an acrostic. It is based on each of the the letters forming 'Anna Chaplaincy.'

Download a pdf of the entire acrostic of which the photo above is just a brief snapshot of the first four letters.

Debbie Thrower writes, 'What a lovely testimony both to Joan's service and care for the residents and staff there and of course to that of the hundreds of other Anna Chaplains across the UK.

Using all the letters of ANNA CHAPLAINCY the staff member has spelt out some of the guiding principles of this approach to spiritual and emotional support for older people.

Joan is an Anna Chaplain in Jesmond and was among the first cohort of Anna Chaplains to be commissioned in Northumbria back in 2019. I very much enjoyed meeting her and her colleagues in Newcastle later that same year.'

'I especially like Always A dapting to everyone’s needs...
and Year after Y ear - a decade of service'.
'Well down Joan for getting your thinking cap on and crafting such a thoughtful celebration of ten years' of Anna Chaplaincy within BRF Ministries!' Debbie Thrower
