Every week the Revd Janet Parker sends out Colouring Sheets on a different scriptural subject. They are used by activities coordinators in care homes for residents benefit and by many older people at home. Each sheet, such as this week's telling the story of the Good Samaritan, has prompts for reflection - such as 'How do I behave as a neighbour?' - as well as the line illustration which can be coloured in while thinking about the moral of the story and the circumstances of each character.
Janet tells how one older lady in particular had enjoyed the sheets. 'Barbara was 94 and passed them around our local care home and further afield. She would often give me feedback which has been so helpful.'
'Sadly, last week I took her funeral. Barbara was a most wonderful lady, despite huge and increasing physical difficulties, she lived her life "in all its fulness" right until the end. The sort of lady you wished everybody could know, if only for them to have the most wonderful role model and see how life can be. I shall certainly miss her as friend and mentor... She never realised what a special neighbour she was'.
