Anna Chaplaincy Ministry Lead Debbie Ducille had the pleasure of joining the growing ‘Gift of Years’ team again recently in Rugby - this time, for a special evening service of commissioning and celebration, on Tuesday October 1.
Held at Paddox Methodist Church, the ecumenical care home ministry team were able to gather, with friends, family and church leaders to celebrate the commissioning of the Revd Anthony Orr as Anna Chaplain and in his coordinating role.
Team members also received new lanyards and name badges and were prayed for, as they continue to offer spiritual care among hundreds of care home residents across the town.
'The Gift of Years' team (as they are known in Rugby) is one of the longest-standing ecumenical teams in the network,’ reflected Debbie.
‘We are so pleased to see individuals grow in confidence, and that their ministry is appreciated by care home staff, family members and residents alike.'
'Deacon Georgina Brooks and the Revd Anthony Orr – a retired Baptist minister, recently returned to Rugby in his retirement – offer a wonderful, encouraging atmosphere for this team to thrive in. We are so grateful to them, and for all the support of local churches in this ministry.’
