How can we find care homes?
Anna ChapIain Elizabeth Bryson, based in Maidstone, Kent, sets out a simple way of locating your local care homes with a view to offering more ministry in each one:
‘I asked the Maidstone archdeacon’s PA to send me a list of all the deaneries and parishes in each deanery in the Maidstone archdeaconry. I have prepared a document with these headings and made a separate table for each of the deaneries in the archdeaconry:
Name | Address | Services led by… | Parish/Benefice |
‘I then searched on the Internet for “Care homes near…” In my case, I searched for care homes near Marden, Sittingbourne and Faversham. I copied and pasted the name of the care home into the “Name” column and the address into the “Address” column. Next, I copied the address and put it into the Church Near You website. When you click “find” you discover the parish of that care home and can enter it into the last column “Parish/Benefice/Group”.
‘Next, I needed to find out if anyone goes into that care home to lead church services so that the “Services led by” column could be filled in.’
