Anna Chaplain Beth Georgiou at the Harvest Lunch 2023

Anna Chaplain in Ely, Beth Georgiou has sent us a lovely account of the Harvest Service and Lunch at St Mary’s Church Ely last month. It took place on Thursday September 26, following the success of their harvest festivities for older people in the community last year.

'We had a lovely time together today' she wrote. 'About sixty people, most of them churchgoers, but also some new faces shared a Harvest Service with the good old hymns, then a delicious hot meal followed by a selection of apple puddings (apples provided from local trees)and a choice of cider or grape juice served by Phil.

'It was a privilege to see so many smiling faces and humbling to receive so many grateful thanks.'

P.S. Noah’s Ark was an older ladies group knitting project, finished recently, thought you might like to see it.

'And we did! It is amazing... Well done the knitters, and all the team who made the Harvest Service and Lunch such a resounding success', writes Debbie Thrower.
