News has reached us of an Anna Chaplaincy Fundraiser with a difference! Hilary Cheng explains:
'On Saturday the 1st of February, West Bridgford Methodist Church hosted a community coffee morning to raise funds for Anna Chaplaincy. The date was chosen as it was the next available in the calendar for a fundraiser. It fell, appropriately, the day before Candlemas when the reading is traditionally that of The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple when both Simeon and Anna were present.
Bacon butties were on sale, as were tea and coffee. A number of people had baked cakes, all of which were available for purchase. The weekly dance school was also taking place so the place was milling with parents and children.
People had given unwanted Christmas gifts and items for sale so there was a sales table. In addition, Chinese calligraphy was offered, where people could have their name written in Chinese for a small donation. Some people had a go at writing Chinese too!

We worked busily from 9.30am until 12pm and raised £306.00 for Anna Chaplaincy. Thanks were expressed to all who helped and those who contributed.
